Frequently Asked Questions

During our check-in process, your groomer will ask a few questions regarding your pet's history or behavior in a salon-type setting. This gives your groomer time to greet your pet and allow them to get comfortable in the lobby before taking them into the salon for their spa day. Your groomer may also suggest any additional services that they believe may be beneficial for your pet.  If it is your pet's first appointment with us, we do require proof of rabies vaccine on file. 

Appointment times depend on coat condition, temperament, and the type of services included in your pet's groom. We normally ask for 3-4 hours per appointment, however this is only an estimate. Our groomers also answer phone calls and accept walk-in nail trims in between scheduled appointments, which can delay grooming times. Please call us for an update during your pet's appointment - arriving before you receive a phone call could possibly distract your pet and compromise their safety on the table. 

Paw Cutz is a cage-free facility where your dog is allowed to play and socialize with other dogs in between their grooming services. However - ALL dogs are welcome! If your dog is not friendly, please let us know when setting up your appointment. Our facility does have kennels and a private "suite" for our less playful friends. 

Our groomers are experienced in handling anxious and reactive pets, but safety is our top priority! If at any time your groomer believes continuing the groom may compromise your pet's health or safety, we reserve the right to refuse service.

Yes, our staff is qualified and comfortable with grooming cats. We understand the importance of proper grooming for the health and well-being of your feline companions. Whether it's a simple brushing session, nail trimming, or more extensive grooming needs, our team is equipped with the skills and expertise to ensure your cat receives the care it deserves. 

Some mats and tangles can be safely removed as long as your pet tolerates the process. However, severe or excessive matting all over the body can leave to severe medical problems. Mats are very painful and pull at the skin which causes irritation and bruising. Our groomers are always happy to provide tips and tricks to prevent matting in the future, however we will never hurt a pet to please a person.

Quotes prior to completing your pet's groom are only an estimate. We aim to charge a fair price which is dependent on many things. Sometimes during your pet's service, additional charges may be applied for matting, fleas, skin conditions, excessive mud/filth, or temperament. Your groomer is happy to review any additional charges added to your service during pickup. 

We understand that life happens! However, no-shows and last minute cancellations can leave our groomers with empty slots on their schedules which are hard to fill. We kindly ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. A $15 charge will be applied to your next appointment for any no-shows. After 3 no-shows, our groomers reserve the right to no longer service you or your pet. 

We allow a 15 minute window for all scheduled appointments. If you believe you may not make it on time, we do ask that you call us to make sure your groomer can still accommodate your pet. Depending on your groomer's schedule, we may be able to accomodate a late arrival with an additional $10 late fee. However, after 15 minutes, your groomer does reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

While you are always welcome to call, it is EXTREMELY rare that we have same-day grooming appointments available. Our groomers normally stay booked about a week in advance(even further during summer and the holidays). Walk-in services such as nail trims, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression are always welcome during normal business hours, but we do suggest calling ahead to avoid interfering with drop off appointments.
